BIO
The New Hires are an indie rock band from Ottawa, ON, crafting hook-forward songs that pair emotional honesty with explosive live energy. Blending 2000s rock nostalgia with modern indie sensibilities, the band has carved out a sound that feels both familiar and urgent, built for crowded rooms and loud singalongs.
Hailing from the depths of Kijiji, the dapper 5-piece have been releasing guitar-driven music that feels both deliberate and slightly unravelling. Their latest release ‘Talking to the Walls’ EP is no exception. Produced by Thomas D’Arcy (NOBRO, The Sheepdogs, July Talk) at Taurus Recording in Toronto, the record explores the social anxieties, restlessness, and self-reflection of early adulthood. Featuring singles Me, Myself & Lies and Where the Sun Sets, the record takes audiences from loud catchy dance choruses to introspective moments of vulnerability.
Renowned for their signature style and high energy live shows, The New Hires have performed festivals such as Ottawa Bluesfest, Ottawa Dragonboat Festival and YGK Beerfest, sharing stages with JJ Wilde, Dear Rouge, Virginia to Vegas and DURRY. Whether on festival stages or packed club floors, the band’s back-to-basics approach thrives on connection, energy, and authenticity.
